Happy Mother's Day

On this my second year of being a Mother, I tried to spend time on Mother's Day thinking about all of the things I love most about being a Mom to little Lauren.  The list is too long to mention but here goes...

I love seeing this little face every morning when I wake up.  Not always this happy but we'll take it.

I love that when I leave for work there are little shoes on the shelf in the garage that once were not there.

I love that we have someone to buy ice cream for 

(and who actually likes the sound of "London Bridges" playing over and over)

I even love all of the "kid paraphernalia" that fills our driveway

 I love seeing a tired baby sleep

But more than anything I love EVERYTHING about getting to be her Mom.  Happy Mother's Day to me!

Anyone need a Band-aid?

NOTE TO SELF:  
More than five minutes of dead silence means your toddler is doing something she shouldn't be doing...

To someone she shouldn't be doing it too.

The end result....OUCH!

We all love a birthday party!

Lauren got to go to her twin friends 2nd birthday party this weekend complete with a Sesame Street "Elmo" theme, bouncy house and plenty of fun.

The Hunt

Lauren went to her first official Easter Egg Hunt last Saturday. Sure it was cold and rainy but luckily Aunt Jerris was there to show Lauren the ropes.



First, stake out your eggs. And don't let the cute boy next to you distract you from your mission.



It helps to have an assistant

Dear Mr. Easter Bunny: Despite all of this "fun", it's cold and I'm tired. Taking my stash of eggs and headed home. See ya next year!

Have a Happy Easter...and then eat sand

There is the picture perfect Easter:
- Beautiful baby girl in a pink Easter dress with matching Easter hat.
- Easter egg hunt on a sunny day with photos taken in a lush green yard.
- Morning brunch with the Easter bunny passing out chocolate eggs.

And then there was our actual Easter (WAY MORE FUN!)
- Having my beautiful Aunt Jerris come to visit and spoil me for 72 hours straight
- Eating Easter candy for breakfast (because Aunt Jerris said I could)
- Forgoing the Easter dress in lieu of "play clothes" covered in chocolate pudding, fruit juice and sand.
- Going to Easter brunch for dinner while wearing your sunglasses!

Finger Painting 101

This past weekend brought us beautiful weather and some beautiful artwork done by Baby girl. Let's just say that Lauren had a ball and Grandma Susie was VERY VERY brave!

First, start with a clean slate



Start slow and take time to consider your "artistic vision"



Definitely paint yourself to ensure the accuracy of the colors



Don't hold back. It's time to go artistically CRAZY!
