Welcome to the Thomas Blog!

Welcome to the 1st official post from the Thomas Blog!

As most of you know, Bryon and I have been blessed with good health, wonderful friends and family, a loving home and years full of travel. The only thing that seemed to be missing was a little person to share all this fun with. So in January 2009, we put years of fertility treatments behind us and headed to the Gladney Center for Adoption in Fort Worth, Texas to attend their Adoptive Parent Orientation (thank you again Rachel). Our lives were forever changed that day as we were FINALLY on the road to parenthood.

Fast forward 1.5 years, and on May 24 (also our 7-year wedding anniversary), we received the call that we finally had an adoption match and would soon be parents to a baby girl due July 17! Since that day we have spent the past 4 weeks frantically preparing for parenthood (as if you can actually prepare). We have been showered with gifts, great advice, a closet full of PINK, and more love and support then we could ever imagine. We are also practicing going to bed later and getting up earlier since our 8 hours of consecutive sleep is about to come to a crashing halt.

Bryon and I flew to Texas in mid June to meet the birth parents and feel so blessed that they have chosen us to share this journey. The next few weeks are sure to be stressful and emotional. Many things need to happen before our family is complete, but for now we just pray for an easy delivery for our birthmother resulting in a healthy baby girl.

Bags are packed and the car seat installed. READY, SET, WAIT!
