Finger Painting 101

This past weekend brought us beautiful weather and some beautiful artwork done by Baby girl. Let's just say that Lauren had a ball and Grandma Susie was VERY VERY brave!

First, start with a clean slate

Start slow and take time to consider your "artistic vision"

Definitely paint yourself to ensure the accuracy of the colors

Don't hold back. It's time to go artistically CRAZY!

Ahhh...a 21 pound "masterpiece" is born

Spring Break at Grandma and Grandpa's

Lauren and Mom just spent a wonderful week in Virginia visiting Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Jerry (aka "Pop Pop"). It took less than one day for Lauren to get the entire household initiated into her toddler world.

Getting Pop Pop (and Lola the dog) reacquainted with making Play Doh balls...

And stickers

Here kitty kitty. Do you like to take baths?

Feeding Lola lunch is WAY more fun than eating it myself.

Uncle Byron came down to Virginia to see his favorite niece. At least "someone" can relate to hating having their picture taken as much as Lauren did.

Grandma loved on me all week. Plenty of hugs, toys and play time.

It was the perfect week away! The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, Mom got some much needed rest and relaxation, the grandparents got to be "grandparents" and Lauren was loved round the clock. Until next year...

Perception

This was just too good not to post. Especially since we experienced this at 5:30 this morning...

"One of these things is not like the other" Part 4

For the past 20 months we've been using Lauren's Uncle Brandon as her human growth chart. Brandon came to Kansas City this weekend for a wonderful visit and we absolutely had to keep the tradition going...

August 2010

January 2011

November 2011

March 2012. It seems baby is getting bigger while her patience for our tradition grows smaller. We'll try again at two!

Mommy in the Making?

Baby girl spent the weekend focusing on high fashion while spending time with her baby dolls. As any new mother knows...it's hard to do both at once.

Everyone get your hats on...
And don't forget the zip up pajamas, hot pink skirt and "Girls are just better" baby bib.

What? You don't like my outfit selection?

Taking a leisurely stroll.

Sometimes it's the journey, not necessarily being able to see your destination.
