And so it begins. A lifetime of cutting, layering, thickening, thinning, curling, straightening and coloring. Lauren has now officially been introduced to the salon!
On Saturday we took baby girl for her first haircut. Yes she is very young, but when you are born with a full head of hair its never too early to begin maintenance.
She loved the yellow car (ie; salon chair), the TV that played ongoing Dora videos, and we are proud to say she was the ONLY child in the entire salon not screaming at the top of her lungs.
Pre haircut. Based on this picture a haircut was much more dire than her parents realized.
Bangs are coming back in style ladies!
A few side layers please...
Such a big girl
The finished product. Success!

Nothing like a good night's sleep
It was June 2010 when I tell my very "crafty and creative" Step-mother that we have scoured every baby website out there and can't possibly find the perfect bedding for our unborn baby girl. We wanted something fun, festive, and with tons of bright colors (good for baby's brain stimulation!)
With a yellow polka dotted giraffe as our inspiration, Kathy sampled, shopped and sewed until the perfect bedding set was created.
Fast forward to present day.
It's here! It's done! And it's exactly what we wanted. With a precious baby and the gorgeous baby bedding, the nursery is finally complete.
Thank you Grandma Kathy. This beautiful face doesn't come without a good night's sleep.

Here goes the New Year's resolutions...
Just one week into 2011, its time for even the littlest of people to make some New Year's resolutions of their own.
Time to get the sweatsuits out...
And let the exercise begin.
Don't forget to eat your fruits and vegies. YUCK!
And remember, if at first you don't succeed then toast to a Happy New Year and save your resolutions for 2012.
Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
Six Months Old
Happy New Year everyone. Guess who's six months old?
I'm 14 pounds pounds of fun and as long as two rulers (that's 24 inches). I have two teeth and two on the way. With all this teething my bark is definately as bad as my bite. Ouch!
I am on my way to sitting up, and have expanded my vocabulary by using my Mom's favorite words "blah, blah, blah".
I've started rice cereal, oatmeal, and dabbled in green beans, peas and carrots. Not a favorite but are they really anyone's?
I'm happy, healthy, loved and getting bigger every day. Happy Birthday to me!

A Rockin' New Years Eve
Lauren rung in the new year surrounded by her Aunt Jerris, Uncles Brandon and Michael, and her cousin Sam. Everyone flew in from Colorado to celebrate a fabulous 2010 with our newest family member.
We ate, drank and played games. And we had so much fun that we all failed to stay awake till midnight. I honestly think this was the very first time where Bryon and I weren't awake to ring in the new year. Welcome to 2011...and welcome to parenthood.
A quick nap on Uncle Michael's nap before the party begins
There's nothing better than being with my Aunt Jerris
Cousin Sam and I in our "party clothes"
The Uncles ringing in the New Year
Pajama Party! See how refreshed you can look the day after?
Happy 2011 everyone

Christmas Day
Ho! Ho! Ho!
Christmas 2010 was a wonderful holiday with our new baby girl and Grandma Susie. We dined on wine and appetizers (and more formula of course), took Lauren to see the Christmas lights (she slept through the whole thing) and woke up Christmas morning to some fun surprises from Santa including a Johnny Jumper, new bath seat, books and lots of other fun toys. Santa also decided to deliver Lauren a second set of teeth to match her bottom two. We are truly blessed.
Working on my reading skills early with my new book
Dad opening my gifts while I rest from all of the festivities
Lauren in her holiday outfit. Who says plaid isn't fashionable?
This Johnny Jumper would be way easier if my feet hit the ground.
Merry Christmas from the Thomas family...
