A week of firsts

It was a week of "firsts" here at the Thomas house. Some good, some bad but definiately all "baby book worthy".

Sunday, Lauren and her parents had their first trip to Children's Mercy Urgent Care. Two temperature checks, three sets of tests and four hours later Lauren's diagnosis was a respiratory infection that would last us through the week. The only benefit to this was all of the extra time spent snuggling with Mom, Dad, Grandma Susie and a very patient Opus the cat.

As if her high temperature and sore throat wasn't enough, all four molars decided to make their presence this week. Good for future steak eating, but bad for sleep-deprived parents.

This week also brought Lauren her first pair of official walking shoes. They are a little big, but come in handy for the few steps she ventures to take each day. Ahhh, baby's got new shoes!

Lauren has also started sporting the pony tail this week. She hates having anything in her hair, but we keep telling her that growing one's hair out isn't for the faint of heart.

Wednesday, Lauren decided to attempt her first free fall out of her high chair. This rendered her first visable bruise and the first pseudo heart attack from her parents. Luckily, she is tougher than the kitchen floor she landed on.

(NOTE: Photo of crying baby omitted here)

The week ended with her first shopping spree for Fall clothing, watching a football game with Daddy, and enough spare time to help Mom clean out her closet.

As they say "All's well that ends well"!
